The Netherlands
The Netherland’s picturesque capital city is home to 165 labyrinthine canals, aligned with charming historic brick buildings connected by uniquely designed bridges built throughout the centuries. The beauty of Amsterdam goes far beyond its photographic landscapes—it is the Dutch people and eclectic culture that draws so many to this brilliant city.
Amsterdam hosts close to twenty million guests per year. People from all over the world gravitate to the distinctive experience Amsterdam offers, as it is truly like no other place in the world. The Dutch are proud of their heritage, they embrace free thinkers and by nature, they are progressive, as evidenced by Amsterdam’s infamous Red Light District and numerous ‘coffee shops” legally selling cannabis. As you tour, you will learn about the history behind their way of life, how and why the city was constructed, and how modern innovation continues to influence the Dutch lifestyle.
Explore the city’s green spaces. Both locals and tourists flock to Vondelpark to take in shows at the open-air theater, view Picasso’s infamous “The Fish” sculpture, or stroll through exquisite rose gardens. For visitors interested in more tranquil surroundings, Oosterpark is the perfect place for a picnic.
You’ll be enthralled by world famous artwork painted by Van Gogh and Vermeer, among others. Tour the homes of Anne Frank and Dutch master painter, Rembrandt van Rijn. Modern art enthusiasts will find an impressive collection of contemporary art and design at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Wander through Jordaan, a trendy neighborhood where you can explore Noordermarkt Square, contemporary art galleries and hip eateries.
Finally, no visit to Amsterdam would be complete without navigating the charming streets on a bike, taking a canal boat tour or venturing out to the beautiful countryside—roam through endless fields of tulips, be greeted by town locals happy to share the history behind their iconic windmills, small fishing villages and, of course, those quirky wooden shoes.
